Back To Work

Yesterday was the first day back to work since vacation but it was a easy day. Today with month end it is a back to the real world day. I am grateful for that. As I have said before, I am glad I have a job. I was thinking about it over the weekend and it is amazing to me that we are able to live on just one salary. As we were waiting and hoping and working on our miracle of adoption we had put in place plans for childcare etc. Then all of a sudden things started to change and Boo hit our life and Natalie was able to just up and quit work. Now some would say we were lucky, I like to think that we were blessed and still are since it has been over a year and we haven't really missed the money.

Memories from Disney Trip

Disneyland was great and I am grateful how it all worked out.
Some memories are:

First smile from Maggie: As we were walking to the park the first day Maggie could tell something was up and got all excited.

Lucky moment #1: As I was walking through Downtown Disney I dropped Natalie’s favorite Levi jacket. Lucky for me when she noticed it I was able to retrace my steps and find it on the floor.

Tear up Moment # 1: Riding small world and seeing Maggie get excited about things.

Lucky Moment #2: As I was walking around with Maggie while waiting for the fireworks we lost her shoe and sock. Once Natalie notices they were gone I was able to retrace my steps and find the shoe but not the sock.

Biggest Smile from Maggie: We were on the train at Main Street and Maggie started to get excited and trying to get out of the car. I looked over and saw Goofy standing down below in the front part of the park

Lucky Moment #3: As we were sitting on the bench in the Movie part a kid came up and handed me my wallet that had fallen out of my pocket under the bench.

Tear up moment #2: Watching Maggie all big eyed with Natalie watching Fantasmic.

Lucky Moment #4: Not being the one in charge of the stroller when Maggie lost her sippy cup. (I did lose one of the binkies though)

More Smiles: As we met the characters Maggie was a little shy, until we hit Mickey Mouse. She warmed right up and even kissed his cheek. My second thought after how cute it looked was, how many other people had kissed that cheek today.

Warmest Memory: Tonight as I was scrolling through pictures from the trip Maggie got excited and was clapping as she looked at them.

Just Plain Happy!!!

Today as I was driving to work in the snow and trying to think on what to write here I came up with quite a few topics. But as I reviewed my families blogs just now, I have to say that I am just grateful to be so happy. I like my job. We have great friends! I love my Church Calling! I adore all my family. Maggie is growing so fast and her personality is coming in so strong. I am excited to be a grandpa in a few months, (well guess it is really a few weeks), I am excited to go to Disneyland in the morning.

Yesterday I had a busy day with the temple dedication. Part of my calling on the high council was to make sure everything went off well in our 2 buildings that have satellite service. Due to the efforts of a lot of great people each doing their part the service was wonderful.

Life is just normal but that means that Life is good!

DVR (again)

Monday night is family night with the TV it seems. This is the new must watch night for us. Since I was flying I missed the shows. I knew we recorded them at home but they have been known to be erased before I get to watch them. (OK it happened once but i forgive you Randall)
So it was great when I got home late Tues and found that I could not sleep due to sleeping on the plane, to be able to watch the shows, fast forward through ads and enjoy the humor of "Big Bang and How I met your mother.
I still have to catch up on Heroes and 24 but they are safely recorded until I get to them.

Guess Prayers need to be Specific

I know I haven't posted for awhile but alot has been going on. First off I am in El Paso. Yesterday I was to catch an early flight to Houston then into El Paso by 2. Take care of some things then head across the border Tues morning to see the people there then catch a flight back home at 4 through Houston again.
Well... I got notice that my flight from Houston into El Paso was canceled. They rerouted me through Atlanta leaving at 11:30 into El Paso at 8.

Well the flight left late so I got to Atlanta late but the El Paso flight was delayed. I got to El Paso at 10pm only to find that I had no rental car, they were all out. So I walked to the hotel planning to go back this morning and get a car. At the hotel I at least had my room saved on the concierge floor (#5) but my key card didn't work so I had to get another.
this morning I got a car at 9, went and took care of the items I needed to in El Paso and now just have to wait till I go to the airport to head home. I decided that I do not have enough time to go across the boarder and make it back. ( Not too broke up about it.)

I prayed for a safe journey not just the details I guess

Being Busy

I haven't posted for awhile again, it is not that I am not grateful but busy. That in it self is something to be grateful for.
Between work, Church and Family my hours are well spent. The past few days Natalie has had bridal pictures to edit and process for a wedding that happens this week so I come home from work and get the chance to take care of Maggie, What a great joy it is to see the world through her eyes.

Simple reminders

A couple of weeks ago in Church during the prayer we noticed Maggie fold her arms and look around. We haven’t pressed her to fold her arms but she picked it up fast.
How great is it that something as simple as that helps remind us to show reverence?
For these simple tender mercy’s I am grateful

Reasons for getting up in the morning

My entire reason for getting up and going to work each day is my family.

Natalie told me the other day a very sweet thing. (well as sweet as we get I guess) It was Valentines day and she told me "In the words of Kelly Clarkson...my life would suck without you"

How sweet is that!!!

Oh yea and these guys too! (Smile and wink wink)
