I am so grateful for a wife that has decided to keep her family close. She has started to do family fun time that includes hr brothers and sisters as well as the nieces and nephew. So far they have gone to the Disney Christmas train, chalk festival at Gateway, a baking night for a bake sell, and today they are at the zoo. I was able to go the chalk festival but none of the others. It is so cool to look at the pictures and see how much fun they are having. Even though Boo wont remember this summer she will be able to see the pictures and everything they did and realize why her and her cousins are so close.
Once more I have to admit I married way above myself...and for that I am grateful most of all
My wife and I were talking about writing in journals. She mentioned that she heard that even if you can not write a formal journal you should at least write something you are grateful for each day. I love that idea so I stole it! Enjoy

Dolly at Hale
We went yesterday to see Hello Dolly at Hale Theater. They always do a great job. For several years we had season tickets but in being on one income we had to make cuts.
I love musical! In august we get to see one of my favorites "Scarlet Pimpernel"
I had season ticket to Broadway in Utah before we got married and then Nat and I had season tickets for several years but that too was cut.
I remember seeing Hello Dolly with Carol Channing. Now she was too old for the part but it was history.
The other day while we were driving we listened to Joseph and the amazing techno color dream coat, Boo loved watching us both sing and dance (sort of) while we drove.
I am so grateful I have a spouse who loves musicals as much as I do and for a mother who instilled the appreciation of great music while I was young.

Sunshine again
Over the past month I almost forgot what it was like to have a hot day. The last couple of days I have needed to water the flowers and the garden.
I have been grateful for the rain and now must pay the price in all the yard work that awaits me.

Boo's new adventure
This past week Nat was up at girls camp.
Boo and I went up Friday afternoon and stayed the night and helped tear down camp.
As we were walking around Boo noticed her shadow. She would laugh and then bend down trying to touch it. She would also start to chase after it.
We slept in the back of the jeep and she loved it. Of course she tired to climb out the window.(being the monkey that she is)
I am so grateful that Boo has the relationship she does with the young women in the ward. As soon as we got up to camp and out of the jeep she was "kidnapped" by some of the girls. We didn't see her for quite awhile.

After dinner a group of girls took her into "Tent Awesome". As we looked in she was in the middle of the girls laughing and having the time of her life.
One more blessing of being active in the Church and doing your calling.

Rain, wind and falling trees!
We have had a lot of rain this past week or so. It has been nice since I have not had to water the garden or lawns or even do yard work.
Sat night I was standing in the kitchen doing the dishes and looked out to see branches from the cherry tree poking up from the wrong place.
We went out to take a look and noticed that the tree had split down the middle, a large part of the trunk with branches was still it the ground stretching skyward, while a larger half lay in the middle of the back lawn. It was dead so no real lose but now will just be a mess to clean up...oh well it should still be raining this week.

New tricks learned.
I am not sure if I am grateful for this or not but Boo has learned a new trick. Tonight she discovered how to climb up on our bed. Now all we have to wait for is her to learn how to climb out of her crib...

Start them young
Last night Nat left it up to me to decide where to go for dinner. I decided that we needed to go to 5 guys (best burgers around)
We had not been there for over a month so I figured it would be ok diet wise.
Well Boo has grown enough that we got her a hot dog just for her.
She ate half of it as well as part of the bun and of course the fries!
(Got to start them young on what good hot dogs are I guess)

Books on Itouch
I have started to read books on my iTouch. I enjoy it more than I thought I would. When the Kindle first came out I was very interested. As I have said before, most my life I have had a book shoved in my back pocket or my bag and grab a few minutes of reading whenever I can.
The thought of having books on a small device that fits in my pocket is very cool. i used to have quite a few Church books on my palm way back when.
But i am grateful for my itouch with many books on it. I can read what strikes my fancy at the time. I also have 2 audio books at a time on it.
I am also grateful for several sites that have free downloads of books, not just the classics but current ones and others for a small price.

First Garden Harvest
The other day Boo(My nickname for my lovely little girl) was out helping me in the garden. She decided to pick some of the lettuce. Well yesterday Nat picked enough for a lunch time salad. She said it tasted good. It is so neat to final start to use what we planted.
Now if I can just keep Boo from "helping" every time we go out to the garden.
