Spring Time

Today the temp is going to be close to 70! Tomorrow it rains and will be 60 but I will be grateful for today. Too bad I am stuck inside at work. I hope to get out a bit early so I can do a bit of yard work.(maybe I will finally get the Christmas lights down)

Podcasts

I love the podcast feature on itunes! It enables me to get programs without really thinking about it. 2 come to mind this morning. I get the "Geek Show" (part of Radio from hell group) each Monday afternoon and have it listened to by Friday. This morning I was able to get LDS General conference before it was even 24 hours old! I downloaded each of the talks and placed them on my ipod to listen to again and again over the next 6 months. How grateful I am for technology that allows this to happen. The old days I would set up a cassette recorder by the radio and record the session, having to remember to flip the tape over every 30 minutes and hope I didn't miss any of the talks while doing it. I then had 8 different cassette tapes to deal with and no way of going to a certain talk etc. Wow times have changed and for the better.

General Conference and a Great Stake President

I love conference weekend! Twice a year we get to listen to the leaders of the Church and the messages they have.
I must admit that I always listen closer than most to the Saturday Afternoon session during the business. I have in the back of my head a few names that I expect to hear being put into Church Callings. Well, yesterday one of those names happened. Our Stake President was sustained as part of the new Sunday School Presidency. He is not only a good man but I call him a friend. We got closer to him while I was serving in the 2 Bishoprics I did. He also was involved in the Adoption circles we helped out in. Then when I was called over a year ago to be on the High Council we would talk each week. He also just happens to be our Lawyer who finalized our adoption.
So today I am grateful that I have had the chance to learn from David McConkie and know he will do well no matter what the Lord calls him to do.

Guess it's water now

I love my diet coke/Pepsi, especially with lime. But I am now thinking I need to stop drinking as much. At work several years ago it cost 50 cents for a can of pop. Then went to 60 then to 65. A few months ago they removed all the canned pop machine and only left in the 20 ounce bottles. They cost $1. Yesterday they raised that price to $1.25! Now I can go to the store and get a 64 ounce bottle for that price. Guess I better be grateful they offer bottle water free here and stick with that. It will only do me good to cut out the pop anyway.

Back To Work

Yesterday was the first day back to work since vacation but it was a easy day. Today with month end it is a back to the real world day. I am grateful for that. As I have said before, I am glad I have a job. I was thinking about it over the weekend and it is amazing to me that we are able to live on just one salary. As we were waiting and hoping and working on our miracle of adoption we had put in place plans for childcare etc. Then all of a sudden things started to change and Boo hit our life and Natalie was able to just up and quit work. Now some would say we were lucky, I like to think that we were blessed and still are since it has been over a year and we haven't really missed the money.

Memories from Disney Trip

Disneyland was great and I am grateful how it all worked out.
Some memories are:

First smile from Maggie: As we were walking to the park the first day Maggie could tell something was up and got all excited.

Lucky moment #1: As I was walking through Downtown Disney I dropped Natalie’s favorite Levi jacket. Lucky for me when she noticed it I was able to retrace my steps and find it on the floor.

Tear up Moment # 1: Riding small world and seeing Maggie get excited about things.

Lucky Moment #2: As I was walking around with Maggie while waiting for the fireworks we lost her shoe and sock. Once Natalie notices they were gone I was able to retrace my steps and find the shoe but not the sock.

Biggest Smile from Maggie: We were on the train at Main Street and Maggie started to get excited and trying to get out of the car. I looked over and saw Goofy standing down below in the front part of the park

Lucky Moment #3: As we were sitting on the bench in the Movie part a kid came up and handed me my wallet that had fallen out of my pocket under the bench.

Tear up moment #2: Watching Maggie all big eyed with Natalie watching Fantasmic.

Lucky Moment #4: Not being the one in charge of the stroller when Maggie lost her sippy cup. (I did lose one of the binkies though)

More Smiles: As we met the characters Maggie was a little shy, until we hit Mickey Mouse. She warmed right up and even kissed his cheek. My second thought after how cute it looked was, how many other people had kissed that cheek today.

Warmest Memory: Tonight as I was scrolling through pictures from the trip Maggie got excited and was clapping as she looked at them.
