Baptism!!!

So proud of Boo! Today she was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She was surrounded by lots of family.

Her birth mother and birth step grandmother were able to make it as well.

Such a spiritual day.

I am so grateful that I have the priesthood and she wanted this.

Fasting

Grateful for Fasting. At one time in my life I would have laughed if you told me I would say that someday.
Over the past few weeks we have seen miracles happen because of Prayer, Priesthood blessings and fasting.
Yesterday my wife and I fasted for our nephew, (who was mentioned in the previous post) as well as his parents.
Last night right before I fell asleep his mom posted the following picture of him.

That smile made my day and the fasting done for him all worth it.
I know that fasting if done correctly can have power in our lives. I believe that in order to fast correctly you need to have a purpose for the fast, start and end with prayer, and make sure that you are donating a true fast offering to the Bishop each month. I don’t think you have to donate the money from the fast if you do an extra during the month but then again what could that hurt.

Several years ago in a Priesthood leadership or a High council meeting I herd my Stake President say that we needed to double our fast offering. In a follow up meeting he said that we needed to make our fast offering be triple the amount we normally would give. (I asked him about it almost a year later and he cannot remember saying that, so guess it was personal revelation to me).

I thought ok and started to pay triple the normal about I was giving when counting the two meals. We had already incre4ased it to double the amount when asked. I did this for 3 months then mentioned to my wife that he had asked us to go triple. She said, “Ok but that is going to be hard for our financed” I just smiled and said “We have been doing it for the last 3 months.” She said “ok, keep going”

We have been doing that for several years now and I can truly say we have been blessed.

MIracles Happen. Trails of Faith happen.

Just want to throw this out there. My sister in law and her husband have been given a great trial and I am so proud of them.
Read the link for more of the story but let me say I am so grateful to know these 3. Wendy and Ben are true hero's to me. Their strength and faith is inspiring, (especially when I think of them as so young but they aren't).

Baby Luke is a special addition to the whole family and I think great things are in store for him
I feel blessed that I was able to be part of giving blessings to Wendy and Ben (I was not the one mentioned in the article) but I did beat Wendy and the helicopter to the hospital for the first flight.

Another item that adds to their being hero's...Ben is just coming up on his year mark since his Baptism. The original plan was to be sealed in the Temple before the baby came but guess he had ideas of his own. This trial of their faith is one that might make some crumble but not these two...love you guys and I am grateful that I know you.

LDS Tech Conference

Every Year I try to go to at least the start of the LDS Tech conference (They have a great breakfast plus give away nice note books and stuff)
Today was that day.
I enjoyed the keynote speaker who gave a bit of insight into the growth of the Church and Tech.

I then attended the session on using the Gospel App to better your study.
I knew most of what was brought up and do a good part of it. However, they mentioned how the Church wants members to help other members...I feel strong about that but just note sure how to go about it.
I am so grateful for the tech that the Lord has put in place to further His work

First Day of First Grade

So Yesterday Boo started 1st Grade...where has the time gone.

Sunday night we had a nice dinner, then talked about school. We discussed what she was excited for and what was on her mind.
I was then able to give her a fathers blessing as well as give Nat one.

I am so grateful for the restored authority and priesthood of God that allows me to do this.

It is a blessing of comfort and peace that comes no other way.

Share the Goodness

I am so grateful I had several boring conference calls scheduled today that I only had to half listen too. I was able to watch on line the Devotional from BYU Education week. I had wanted to go to Education week again but decided to save my 60 bucks.

Elder Bednar gave a talk on social media and what he thinks of it.

Here is the link to watch it if you are so inclined.

It was a gre4at talk full of nothing really majorly new but a urge by an apostle to flood the world with goodness.

So grateful I could listen/watch this today.

too long gone

How time flies when you’re not noting it.

It has been far too long since last I wrote on here. As always I am so grateful for all that happens to us.

Update on our lives:

My dad is now a resident of the Veteran’s Home in Ogden.

His health has made it so My mom can no longer take care of him at home. So many little miracles happened to get him to be in where he is. Usually there is a 2 year waiting list but circumstances happened just right that he got in. They take such good care of him. I visit every Tuesday afternoon.

Nat and I were released from our Church callings, her from Young Women’s and me from the Stake Young Men’s Presidency. We are now teaching 5 Sunbeams in Primary.

It is nice working with her but I have to admit I still am working on catching the vision of the call. But the kids love us and even make sure they drag their parents to Church so they can come to Primary.

My job is a job…so grateful that I have a way to provide our family with money so that Nat can stay home with Boo.

This is the last week of Sumner for Boo. Next Monday she starts 1st Grade. Not sure Nat is ready for her to be out of her sight and control for a whole day, 5 days a week but Boo is excited.

I am so grateful for blessing that come even if I don’t deserve them.

Little things happen that as they ripple out have mighty change.

As for my list about myself in 10 years…I’m working on it. Report to follow.
