Temple Open House

We went to the open house for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple today. Cami and the girls went with us. It was crowded but well worth it.

The chance for another open house probably wont happen for awhile...that makes this one that much more special.

I am so grateful to have so many Temples so close to us.

Family scripture Study

We have not been as regular as we would like on scripture study but at least we are trying.

I am so grateful that Boo is loving the scripture study. She knows where we keep her copy as well as her moms.

She was even reading on her own the other night. I watched as she got her scriptures, went to her little bouncer thing, grabbed a blanket on the way and then settled back in and started to "read". Wow, that was really cool!

Handcart Days

One of the great things about living in a sort of small town is what they do for holidays. July 24th in Utah is a big deal. It is basically when the Pioneers entered the Salt lake Valley.

Our great town has a great parade. Boo loved it. We were with her down close so she could get the candy that they throw out.

(Yes that is a leash we have on her. Never can be too safe)

Daddys little Helper

Boo is a very helpful child.
She loves to read...here she is reading to her nephew...(at the end of it she seemed to have gas)

Not midnight but still fun

Yesterday we went to Harry Potter. Usually we hit a midnight show but with Randy's new job we can't. Also Nat wanted to see this one as well. So Yesterday at 11 in the morning Cody, Nat Randy and I sat int he theater and loved the show. Jo and Josh are going on Friday while we watch the baby. Yesterday as we walked in we saw Nat's sister and brother in law 2 rows behind us. It is so neat to have a family that loves the same type of movie. It is also nicer to be able to go mid day and not the dead of night. (Especially since it was a 2 hour 40 minute movie)

AC

Last summer we invested in getting central air...what a difference it makes! Of course poor Randy in the basement freezes but he can throw on another blanket if he needs it.
I am also grateful for Air in the car for the drive home at 4-5 each night... Sunday at Church the AC stopped working in one of the rooms and boy did I hear about it. Makes you wonder how we ever survived 20 years ago with all the fancy stuff.

Family = Busy Weekend

I am so grateful for family time and the closeness we have.
Friday we took Wendy to lunch for her birthday along with Nat's sisters and sister in law and the kids. Then Friday night we went to our monthly dinner out with my parents and siblings.
Saturday the morning was spent with Nat helping her do some pictures, then we went to see an apartment that Cody is thinking of moving into. Then we went to a movie with Boo's birth mother and her dad and step mom.
Sunday after a day of Church Cody came out for dinner as well as we went to look at 2 more apartments he was thinking of renting.
And now it is Monday morning and back to work.

Left Overs

I am very grateful for a wife that is a great cook. The last couple of days I have been able to bring leftovers for lunch. (Taco Soup and Lasagna)
I sure enjoy this better than anything I could go buy.

Poltics today

This past weekend was one for thought. As I have read about the signers of the Declaration I am amazed at the sacrifice they went through. Some were caught by the British and killed, other lost everything they had in wealth and things dying in rags. One had the British take over their home. As they were standing with General Washington they told the general to open cannon fire on their home to attack the British.
All believed in the cause...I wonder if anyone from any party would do the same today. Would they give up all their wealth for the cause? Would they live in caves in hiding but still striving for the cause for justice and good?

I think not...and that is something I am not grateful for
