31 cent Ice Cream

Tonight, as Natalie came in the door from Young Woman's she announced that we were going to go to Baskin Robins for ice cream at 31 cents a scoop!
Needless to say this one night promo was packed but well worth it.
Boo loves ice cream! This is just the first of many "Adventures" we have planned for the summer. I am so grateful for a wife that wants to go do crazy things just for the fun, (and great taste) of it!

Dentist appointment

Last week I had a cleaning and checkup. This week we continue on what the dentist calls his "5 year plan" for me. (I have a lot of work that needs to be done)
So I am grateful for MY dentist who is great, he doesn't lecture or yell. "If you don't do as you should we just see you more, sooner or later" he says. I do what I should now but did not always do so.

Oh well it is better than dentures I guess

Popsicles!

Yesterday we had Maggie’s first boo boo. She fell as she was walking and her hands didn’t stop her well enough so she hit her chin and her mouth started to bleed a little. (The first of many more to come I am sure). We helped rinse it out and she was upset so we got her a Popsicle for the first time and that helped stop the bleeding as well as took her mind off of the problem.
Guess for the next while we better keep a supply handy. (Of course I don’t think she will be as bad as Cody was…at least I hope not!)

Cake and Ice cream

Tonight the Bradford clan got together to celebrate a nephews birthday. (Jo and Josh did not make it but I am sure Jo is just sick of being pregnant etc). It was the usual happening...5 different conversations going on at the same time, presents, and Ma's Homemade cake and ice cream. My mom does great things with cakes. Growing up we loved the cakes she would make and decorate. Tonight as usual we had two flavors...different from the last time we got together.
Boo really loves cake and goes nuts for ice cream.
Great memories to be grateful for.

Not what I picture...

Last night and this morning I spent time fixing the video link for Sundays conference. This morning as I was watching myself I was amazed at how different I look than what I have in my minds eye. Natalie has said that I pull some weird faces as I talk and I saw it today. Don’t know what I am going to do about it but at least now I know…guess that is something to be grateful for.

Still here.

I haven't posted for awhile since life has been busy. I am grateful for that! Last post was about having helpful people as I installed the Internet and wireless set up in 3 Church houses, well I found out right after that, that we are holding a special meeting through video hook up in those 3 Church's. So this past week has been spent in figuring out where to get the equipment and how it works,(once we got it there were no instructions in it, so trial and error and dumb luck we figured it out). Tonight they want to see a test run so I am taping cable and running electric cords like crazy.
I am grateful for the talent of trouble shooting and being able to figure things out fast. Of course this came for years of goofing stuff up and having to fix it quickly.

Helpful workers

I took yesterday morning off with the full intention of getting the wireless Internet setup at the 3 chapels then going into work. Well I did not get done with Comcast until 5. The morning was spent on the phone trouble shooting, the afternoon I waited for a tech but once he came we went to all 3 buildings and made sure the comcast portion was all working. I then went back after supper and got the west building setup as well as the Stake House. This afternoon I will finish the final building.
I am grateful for the help from the tech who did not have to go to all 3 buildings with me as well as the Church's tech group in getting the firewalls working. (they even called me this morning to see when I wanted to do the last building)
Now comes the fun in trying to boast the wireless signal so it can be used ...

Wicked and Hanna Montana

This weekend was one of the arts!. On Friday I was able to go with all the Seabury girls to see Hanna Montana movie. (Nat, her sisters Wendy, Heidi, nephew Carter, Sis in law Cami, nieces Carlee, Alison and Chloe) I have to admit that I enjoyed the show and even got a little tear in my eye a few times when there were special daddy daugther moments with the stars.
Yesterday Natalie and I (as well as Wendy and Nat's dad) went to "Wicked" What a show!!!!!
We used to have season tickets for quite a few years to Broadway in Utah but have not had them the last couple of years. Were sat on row D which is close to our old front row seats and they were great.
(I miss going to the plays)
So this past weekend was one to be grateful for not just Easter and all that it means but family time and the arts.
I am glad the girls let me tag along for the movie, (I would have looked creepy sitting by myself) and I am glad that Nat was able to get tickets for Wicked and share that with her.

Ma

Well the lights are still up…(yes I am lazy). Today I worked from home for part of the morning, then went to the gym with Natalie. During the week my mom watches Boo 2-3 days a week while Nat goes to the gym. Boo loves going to Ma’s she always has treats, toys books etc. I am so grateful that my mom loves to spend time with Boo. It not only helps so Nat can get to the gym but lets Boo get closer to her grandmother

Spring Time

Today the temp is going to be close to 70! Tomorrow it rains and will be 60 but I will be grateful for today. Too bad I am stuck inside at work. I hope to get out a bit early so I can do a bit of yard work.(maybe I will finally get the Christmas lights down)

Podcasts

I love the podcast feature on itunes! It enables me to get programs without really thinking about it. 2 come to mind this morning. I get the "Geek Show" (part of Radio from hell group) each Monday afternoon and have it listened to by Friday. This morning I was able to get LDS General conference before it was even 24 hours old! I downloaded each of the talks and placed them on my ipod to listen to again and again over the next 6 months. How grateful I am for technology that allows this to happen. The old days I would set up a cassette recorder by the radio and record the session, having to remember to flip the tape over every 30 minutes and hope I didn't miss any of the talks while doing it. I then had 8 different cassette tapes to deal with and no way of going to a certain talk etc. Wow times have changed and for the better.

General Conference and a Great Stake President

I love conference weekend! Twice a year we get to listen to the leaders of the Church and the messages they have.
I must admit that I always listen closer than most to the Saturday Afternoon session during the business. I have in the back of my head a few names that I expect to hear being put into Church Callings. Well, yesterday one of those names happened. Our Stake President was sustained as part of the new Sunday School Presidency. He is not only a good man but I call him a friend. We got closer to him while I was serving in the 2 Bishoprics I did. He also was involved in the Adoption circles we helped out in. Then when I was called over a year ago to be on the High Council we would talk each week. He also just happens to be our Lawyer who finalized our adoption.
So today I am grateful that I have had the chance to learn from David McConkie and know he will do well no matter what the Lord calls him to do.

Guess it's water now

I love my diet coke/Pepsi, especially with lime. But I am now thinking I need to stop drinking as much. At work several years ago it cost 50 cents for a can of pop. Then went to 60 then to 65. A few months ago they removed all the canned pop machine and only left in the 20 ounce bottles. They cost $1. Yesterday they raised that price to $1.25! Now I can go to the store and get a 64 ounce bottle for that price. Guess I better be grateful they offer bottle water free here and stick with that. It will only do me good to cut out the pop anyway.
